DIRECTOR of REHABILITATION SERVICES

Director of Rehabilitation Services for a 150 bed hospital in a growing
community 60 miles north of Los Angeles. Experience is necessary in
management of rehabilitation department.
The Director of
Rehabilitation Services will be responsible for the leadership and
direction of all activities and functions within the Rehabilitation
Services Department. This includes physical therapy, occupational
therapy, speech therapy and related functions. This key leader
will also develop, implement and control the provision of therapeutic
patient care in accordance with the policies of the hospital and the
directives of the medical staff.
The department includes acute care, Acute Rehab Unit and Outpatient
Therapy.
The ideal candidate will have
experience in growing the outpatient business. Opportunity to grow the business with opening of new
outpatient clinic and participate in the build out of new 200 bed hospital
in 2 years.
This position offers an exciting

rehabilitation services. You manage the Rehab operation in the
hospital and the free-standing outpatient clinic. Our facilities, hiring
and training staff and ensuring accurate evaluation and treatment of

ensure excellence in all that Rehab provides. Responsibilities: Ensure
the timely evaluation and treatment of residents in the most effective
and efficient manner possible; perform resident treatments based on area
of licensure: PT, OT or SLP.
Perform management functions such
as hiring, evaluating and disciplining employees; provide training,
direction and guidance for the Rehab staff. Plan and implement clinical
programs; conduct in-service programs and train Rehab Coordinators on
safety-related issues.
Manage the Medicare denial process
in conjunction with the Area Manager for Rehab. Monitor the financial
performance of facilities and develop plans and programs to improve
performance. Conduct job responsibilities in accordance with the
Company's Code of Business Conduct, the Corporate Compliance Agreement,
appropriate professional standards and applicable state/federal laws.
Qualifications:
Ability to motivate others to
achieve, raise morale and increase productivity. Three years experience
in Short-term care clinical and management environment, but a qualified
candidate with less experience will be considered. Ability to build
trust and is patient and responsive to client's needs.
Committed to meeting quality and
compliance standards. Basic understanding of physiological functions and
processes as they relate to issues of patient care. Familiarity with
issues of compliance for state and federal regulations. Experience in
health promotion, maintenance, and prevention. Ability to create an
integrated care environment that is efficient, safe and cost effective.
Good diagnostic and clinical skills. Understanding of how patient's
signs and symptoms related to a disease process. Must possess a valid
and current license to practice Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy
or Speech Language Pathology in the State of California.

DUTIES:
Evaluates patients by obtaining pertinent past history, obtaining
detailed account of presenting symptoms, and performing appropriate
test/evaluation/interview correctly according to standardized or
recommended techniques. Interprets evaluation findings to determine the
nature and extent of dysfunction. Identifies
precautions/contraindications of speech therapy management. Communicates
evaluation findings and/or make recommendations to primary medical
practitioner regarding patient disposition. Works with a
multidisciplinary team in the evaluation and treatment planning for
pediatrics with suspected autism spectrum disorders. Identifies speech
therapy problems through integration of evaluation techniques/tests.
With the multidisciplinary team, derives a treatment strategy and
direction for early intervention or school bused programs. Facilitates
transition to appropriate programs. Provides advice and education to
patient and family regarding participation in the treatment program,
extension of the program into the home situation and identifies
precautions regarding high-risk activities. Regularly reassess clinical
sign and symptoms to determine effectiveness of treatment, progress of
patient toward goals and the need for modifying goals and treatment.
Provides care for appropriate age/developmental level to adults,
children and infants. Devises forms and written instructions as needed.
Provides accurate, timely documentation of speech therapy management.
Demonstrates a high level of professional conduct commensurate with
standards of the American Speech and Hearing Association and conforms to
the canons of the established code of ethics. Demonstrates competency in
age specifics related to assessing, treating and/or caring for varying
patient populations including infants, children, adolescents, and
elderly adults. Performs other duties as required. Active participation

NEONATAL / PEDIATRIC
THERAPIST
LOCATION:
San Fernando Valley, Los Angeles.
Organizes and conducts therapy programs [Physical
Therapy. Occupational Therapy] in the hospital geared towards the
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit / Pediatric Intensive Care Unit to
facilitate rehabilitation of the physically handicapped. Directs
patient participation in selected tasks to restore, reinforce, and
enhance performance; facilitates the learning of those skills and
functions essential for adaptation and productivity, diminish or correct
pathology, and to promote and maintain health.
Provides
therapy [Physical Therapy. Occupational Therapy] to NICU and PICU
patients upon referral from an appropriate licensed practitioner,
develops a plan of care for each patient referred and is responsible for
its implementation and modification as necessary, in accordance with the
hospital's policies
Qualifications: Previous NICU / PICU experience and excellent
communications skills required. California Children's
Services (CCS) eligible or paneled (preferred).
PHYSICAL THERAPIST -
Physical therapists must be licensed as such by the Physical Therapy
Board of California and must have one year of experience, beyond
internship (that is, the fieldwork performed following completion of
curriculum requirements) providing physical therapy to infants,
children and adolescents with CCS-eligible medical conditions.
OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST -
